September is the right month for traveling to Tuscany and in the Florentine countryside: there are mild temperatures and a lot of sunny days that allow you to enjoy all that the region offers.

September is the grape harvest time (although the period may fluctuate from the second half of August to the first half of October, according to the weather) and of the vin novo (new wine). Tuscan Feeling suggests you some events related to grapes and wine in these weeks throughout Florence Tuscany.

In Florence and surroundings, in September, there are some traditional events related to the grape harvest and the production of the new wine which we strongly recommend to participate, whether you are passionate about wine or popular traditions or both.

The small and pretty village of Rufina, near Florence, celebrates every year the vin nono with four days of events related mainly to wine, but also to local craftsmanship with the kermesse “Bacco Artigiano”. This festival intends to recall the events of celebration of the new wine production organized in the past in the Florentine countryside. The craftsman Bacco is connected to the Carro Matto, which takes place on the fourth Saturday of September: a wagon full of new wine bottles comes from the town of Rufina.

4) Festa dell’Uva at Impruneta (24 September 2017)

The most popular, most popular and most chaotic feast of September is the Impruneta Uva Festival, which takes place every year on the last Sunday of September in the main square of the town, Buondelmonti Square.
The event is very much felt in the province of Florence: for the occasion, in fact, the four wings of the village of Impruneta challenge by pulling out their allegorical wagons inspired by wine and grape harvest
The parade of the wagons is accompanied by music and figurines and it is a somewhat confusing, but funny event. The party starts in the afternoon, about 3 o’clock and continues until late at night. We suggest you arrive in the morning, to have a quiet place to enjoy the show.
