Minimum Rental Period: 7 nights The “Mugello” area, where the Medici family had its origins, extends over a valley north of Florence. At the peak of their power, the Medici family used this area as their hunting reserve, building here villas, castles and parks that characterise the area until today.
In the Mugello area, the gentle Florentine hills slowly become higher until they become covered with chestnut and oak woods leading to the Appennine pass that connects to Bologna and the Romagna.
A destination of many Florentines for their “trip outside town” on Sundays who search for some refreshment during the hot summer days, this area is still to be discovered by many tourists. Here, one can still find Tuscan rural life, made of genuine and simple products as well as friendly people.
Few kilometers from Borgo San Lorenzo, through a 500 metres unpaved road, there is a small plateau. Here, surounded by wheat fields in a quiet and panoramic position, there is the recently restored barn near an old rural house that the owner wishes to retore in a few years’ time.
The nearest village is Panicaglia, at 1 km distance, where there is also a grocery store. The village of Ronta, another small village, is at 3 km distance, and the bigger village that has shopping facilities, a bank, a hospital, a pharmacy and a post office, is Borgo San Lorenzo, at 4 km from the house.
In the large open garden of 5000 sqm, there is a swimming pool (14 x 7 m) that is surrounded by a small wall. It permits to lay in the sun in complete privacy. The owner (3 persons), occasionally living in the next-door property, can sometimes use the pool.
The barn is about 150 sqm and extends over the ground floor.
It is composed of a fully equipped kitchen (oven, fridge, freezer, washing machine, dishwasher), from the kitchen there is an exit on a covered loggia, a living room with a characteristic fireplace, another passage living room, a bathroom with bathtub, a double room, a twin bedded room, a single room, and a bathroom with shower.
In a small dependance house in the garden there is another double bedroom with bath with shower. |
